In her appearance on KRLD's Ask The Expert, IACNT Chairwoman, Homeira Hesami, offered insightful perspectives on Iran's significant role as a catalyst for conflict and terrorism in the Middle East. Describing Iran's regime as "the head of the Snake" of war and terrorism, she highlighted the regime's involvement in fueling numerous issues in the region and beyond through its support for extremist groups and destabilizing actions. The Chairwoman emphasized the critical role that Western nations, particularly the United States, play in supporting the Iranian people's aspirations for democratic change. Iran has been conducting covert influence operations for years in the U.S. and abroad as part of a concerted disinformation campaign that is suspected to be espionage, a congressional briefing and corresponding report revealed Tuesday.
The 82-page report, titled “Iran: The Ayatollah’s Hidden Hand,” details how supreme leader Ali Khamenei and the Iranian regime use operatives in the Biden administration to influence U.S. policy involving the Islamic Republic, building on a Semafor article that was published in September. At the time, it was reported that at least three Iranian agents transitioned from soliciting Tehran’s talking points to working directly on policy under the purview of U.S. special representative for Iran, Rob Malley. In April, Malley’s security clearance was suspended over his alleged mishandling of classified documents.

DALLAS, TEXAS — The Iranian-American Community of North Texas (IACNT) firmly supports House Resolution 627 (H.Res. 627) introduced yesterday by Representative Lance Gooden and joined by over 40 original co-sponsors, including many bipartisan Texas representatives. It calls for accountability of the Iranian regime leaders for their severe human rights violations, specifically the 1988 massacre of political prisoners and recent uprisings.
H.Res. 627 addresses two critical concerns of our community: justice for the victims of the 1988 massacre, the majority of whom were supporters of the People's Mojahedin of Iran (MEK), and the protection and full refugee rights of Iranian political refugees based in Ashraf 3, Albania. These issues are of utmost importance to us as we have many community members with relatives in Ashraf 3 and many others who have lost loved ones in the 1988 massacre.
