North Texans gathered in downtown Dallas condemning the execution of a political prisoner in Iran

IACNT_ On June 8th , North Texans gathered in downtown Dallas to condemn the execution of a political prisoner by the Iranian regime. Gholamreza Khosravi was hanged by the Iranian government due to his support for the People’s Mojahideen Organization of Iran also known as PMOI, an opposition group that seeks to overthrow the current ruling regime. North Texans gathered in Dealey Plaza to make their voice of condemnation to be heard around the world and ask the United States and the United Nations to take a firm position on Gholamreza’s unfair execution. The execution of Mr.Khosravi was  condemned by many right organizations as unjust even based on Iranian government’s own judiciary system.

Mr. Khosravi was asked by the Iranian regime to renounce his support for the PMOI but he refused and he said “I have no fear or horror in declaring my support for the PMOI. Let me be sent to the gallows for this support and for the anti-human animosity of this regime towards MEK and its supporters. Let me be the flag of honor and liberation for the heroic people of Iran and let our martyrdom result in defaming this anti-human regime and cause its quicker downfall.”  Mr. Khosravi said that his refusal resulted in his sentence to death.

In this rally, Mr. Beheshti, a human rights activist, spoke to the audience about this unjust execution and explained that why it is critical for the international community to take action against this barbaric execution and save the lives of other death row inmates similar to Khosravi's. At the end, the audience members wowed to continue Khosravi's path for freedom and democracy in Iran. This rally was very well received by the community and the local reporters.
