On September 1, 2013, the Iranian-American Community of North Texas (IACNT) held a picket-line and a candle light vigil for the victims of the unimaginable inhumane attack on the unarmed residents of Camp Ashraf.
On September, 1, 2013, Iraqi forces on orders from Maliki and the Iranian regime entered the camp killing 52 residents, wounding many others and taking 7 hostages. Further, Maliki’s thugs/criminals set many of the resident’s building and property on fire.
Members of the IACNT strongly condemn this inhumane attack in which many residents were shot execution style with hands tied in-front or behind them, with approximately 9 shot at the Camp’s hospital where they were taken due to their injuries. These criminals/thugs came into the camp with only one mission and that is to kill innocent, unarmed individuals. It should be noted that all residents are considered protected persons.
As a community we strongly condemn this criminal act and call on the United States and the international community for the resident’s full protection and utmost pressure on the Iraqi government to return the hostages. Those responsible for such act against humanity should be brought to justice by the international court. The photos of this event are accessible from here.
