Iranian-Americans Gathered in Dallas Condemning Massive Executions in Iran

After the rise of executions in Iran, members of the Iranian American Community of North Texas invited North Texans to gather in downtown Dallas to condemn the massive abuse of human rights in Iran.

They protested the killing of Satar Beheshti and Jamil Sayvandi who were tortured to death in recent weeks in Iran. They also demanded the release of Nasrin Sotoudeh, a prominent lawyer, Gholamreza Khosravi, and other political prisoners awaiting execution.

According to human rights advocates more than 1,000 prisoners are facing imminent execution at the Gohardasht Prison in Karaj, and 3,000 more at the Evin Prison in Tehran and other cities.

Dr. Hossein Jahansouz, a member of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), condemned the regime's atrocities. Jahansouz, who was a guest speaker in this gathering, talked about the platform of the NCRI for a free and democratic Iran in which the death penalty will be abolished.

Protesters demanded that the United States and the United Nations  be more active in stopping these mass executions in Iran.
